Hands-on Infrastructure Manager / Windows / VMware

Growing and stable company has an immediate need for an IT Manager on a direct hire basis. This is a hands-on, jack of all trades role with one direct report. In this newly created role, you will design, plan, and oversee the day to day IT operation and make sure it is in line with business objectives. You will work closely with key members within other departments across six different regional offices within the US while recommending and implementing cost-effective tech solutions and appropriate IT policies. Some travel (10-20%) may be required from time to time to visit these offices.

Responsibilities:
Operational/strategic planning of IT: promoting innovation, planning projects, and organizing the allocation of resources
Lead operational and strategic planning of IT, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources
Interface effectively with corporate IT team to ensure seamless service and avoid duplication
Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems
Manage financial aspects of the IT function, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision
Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements
Lead IT integration for future US acquisitions (typically one every 12-18 months)
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, storage, hosting partner, virtualization and peripherals
Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, and other applications
Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services
Work with stakeholders to research and define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations
Amanagement for IT hardware, software, and equipment
Maintain written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, department heads, and end users
Requirements:

years experience with Windows OS, specifically Windows Server 2008
and Windows 7+
Hosting & virtualization technologies, specifically VMWare
Strong technical knowledge of storage technologies (SANs)
Experience with Cisco technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, phone systems
Familiar with MS Exchange and Active Directory
Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
ITIL principles.
Preferences:
Bachelor's Degree / Certifications - MSCE, CNS, CCNA, CISSP or equivalent.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
