Job Summary The Land Development Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of land development projects.
This role involves coordinating and leading a team of professionals to ensure the successful execution of land development initiatives from inception to completion.
The Land Development Manager collaborates with various stakeholders, including engineers, architects, contractors, government officials, and internal departments, to ensure compliance with regulations and achieve project goals.
The primary objective is to facilitate the efficient and sustainable development of land properties while meeting the organization's strategic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities Project Management:
Plan, organize and manage land development projects, including site assessment, feasibility studies, budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
Ensure projects are completed within a specified timelines, budgetary limits, and quality standards.
Team Leadership:
Provide guidance and leadership to the land development team, including engineers, surveyors, planners and other professionals.
Assign task, monitor progress and foster collaborative work environment.
Permitting and Regulatory compliance:
Coordinate with government agencies and obtain necessary permits, approvals and entitlements for land development projects.
Ensure compliance with zoning regulations, environmental standards and other applicable laws.
Site Analysis and Due Diligence:
Conduct thorough site evaluations, feasibility studies and environmental assessments to assess the viability and risks associated with land development projects.
Identify potential issues and propose effective mitigation strategies.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses and control cost throughout the land development process.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering initiatives to optimize project outcomes.
Contract Management:
Review and negotiate contracts with consultants, contractors, vendors and other project stakeholders.
Ensure contractual obligations are met and resolve any disputes that may arise.
Collaboration and Communication:
Liaise with internal departments, such as design, legal, finance and marketing to align project objectives and ensure smooth project execution.
Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risk and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Monitor and address issues related to safety, environmental compliance and legal regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage with local communities, government officials and other stakeholders to foster positive relationships and ensure project alignment with community needs and expectations.
Will you join us? Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, urban planning or a related field.
Proven experience in land development, project management, or related roles with a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
Strong Knowledge of land development regulations, zoning codes and environmental standards.
Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
Familiarity with land development processes, including site assessments, due diligence, entitlements, permitting and budgeting.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in land development, such as AutoCAD, GIS and project management software.
Strong leadership and team management abilities with a track record of successfully leading cross- functional teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify issues, propose solutions and make informed decisions.
Knowledge of sustainable land development practices and understanding of environmental considerations.
Familiarity with construction methods, materials and industry best practices.
