Network Engineer (Remote - Local TO LAS Vegas)

Performs escalation troubleshooting and support for internal and external customer networks within the SG network.
This includes independent maintenance and upgrades of network configuration for routers switches and firewalls, resolving network outages, escalations, and documentation as required with minimal supervision.
This network engineer will perform post-mortem analysis of implementation to record lessons learned for continual improvement of implementation process.
They will also monitors network elements and research anomalies such as bandwidth, response time, CPU, and memory thresholds.
This person maintains and supports the Manage Engine OpManager NMS system elements, alerts, and databases.
The network engineer works within the network team and within the network operations center to develop and implement incident resolution and escalation processes.
In addition, they will Research, resolve and documents Syslog generated error messages.
They will be expected to provide 24/7 on call support on a rotational basis, and will need to be in driving distance to the Las Vegas metropolitan area.
Cisco CCNA certification preferred but equivalent professional knowledge in Routing and Switching, Security, or Data Center is acceptable No certifications required if they have the professional experience under their belt Professional experience supporting a large enterprise network configure and troubleshoot Cisco networking devices such as layer 2/3 switches, routers, and firewalls Advanced network troubleshooting skills using standard troubleshooting methodologies Knowledge of simple network monitoring protocols (SNMP) and systems such as Manage Engine OpManager Network Performance Monitor, Network Configuration Manager, and IP Address Management applications Knowledge of troubleshooting ticketing systems and methodologies Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis and IPv4 and IPv6 and routing, sub-netting, and VLAN's Advanced knowledge of spanning-tree, VTP, port channels and load balancing Advanced ability in analyzing and troubleshooting packet captures using Wireshark Maintain documentation such as Visio diagram and Excel spreadsheet in support of implemented product offerings Troubleshoot and support routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF and BGP Knowledge of WAN protocols and circuits; MPLS, Satellite, Cellular, Ethernet, DSL, FiOS Ability to terminate and troubleshoot cabling for Ethernet, T1, and DS0 connections Advanced experience in supporting and troubleshooting VPN Technologies & issues - IPSec, DMVPN, and site to site VPN solutions Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills The right fit will have excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills Recommended Skills Analytical Border Gateway Protocol Cisco Communication Data Centers Databases Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
