Controls Engineer

Position
Summary:
The controls engineer will support modernization projects of existing controls systems and design of new controls systems for power generation plants.
80% of their day-to-day will be centered around back-office engineering and design tasks, and the remaining 20% will be on-site factory acceptance testing and assisting personnel with installation and commissioning.
Daily responsibilities include:
Evaluation of Distributed Control System (DCS) for new and modernization installations Input/output list preparation and input/output channel allocation Participate in Site surveys, Design review meeting, site readiness meeting, factory acceptance testing.
Conceptualize the control design and present it to customer as part of customer design review.
Prepares and updates engineering documentation including installation work packages.
Basic and detailed engineering of DCS system Control cabinets Create Loop drawings Field instrumentation.
Modbus, IEC 61850, TCP/IP and Profibus connectivity.
Heat load calculation for DCS/ PLC cabinets.
Guides the design, development, and implementation of very complex hardware solutions while adhering to manufacturing capabilities.
Support Manufacturing and REC for hardware engineering related queries.
Minimum RequirementsRequired Qualifications / skills:
Bachelor of Science from an accredited university.
1-3 years in control system hardware engineering.
Experience with DCS, PLC HW design is preferred.
Hands on knowledge on AutoCAD Electrical, COMOS.
Working HW knowledge on new unit Siemens Energy Gas turbines and Steam turbines, BOP hardware standards.
A team player with strong problem-solving skills and task oriented.
This person would preferably be self-motivated, has good time management and willing to learn.

Knowledge of Siemens T300 or Siemens S7 products Recommended Skills Basic Oxygen Process Control Systems Curiosity Distributed Control Systems Iec 61850 Instrumentation Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
