30AM - 4PM (may have some flexibility) Provides technical assistance to pathologists in surgical pathology and autopsy procedures. Prepares, processes, examines and assists in the analysis of tissues. Monitors Resident and directs the workflow for maximum efficiency of department personnel. Initiates action to obtain legal authorization for necropsy. Provides medical residents with instruction in the use of photography equipment and procedures for routine dissections and autopsies. May dien autopsy cases to assist pathologist. Provides data which indicates the presence of bio-hazards so that appropriate handling precautions may be taken. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science or certification obtained prior to 2003. Must be PA(ASCP) certified or eligible and pass exam within 18 months of hire. Pathologist's Assistant, Salary:
$37.86 - $67.26/hour The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials. Additional Details PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
(Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
