Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to manage the preparation and coordination of SEC reporting requirements, accounting research and resolution of complex accounting issues, new accounting guidance and reporting governance application and implementation, monitoring and updating of financials controls to comply with Sarbanes Oxley and development and implementation of global accounting polices. This position will also assist the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and Chief Accounting Officer with various special projects and work closely with senior management. This person will be involved with corporate staff initiatives and complex transaction analysis to ensure that the accounting implications of actions being considered are understood by the decision makers. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues. Essential Job Functions:
Assist in developing and implementing process improvement related to the consolidation and financial reporting cycle Work on multiple financial projects simultaneously, that are time sensitive, ability to schedule activities and work under pressure is required Assist with the SEC compliance and coordination and preparation of SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K Participate in both formal and informal reviews with business units to ensure financial statement disclosures are complete and accurate Recognize, research and resolve SEC reporting and general accounting issues Assess the impact of new accounting standards and assist in the development of related implementation strategies as required Assess the impact of new reporting governance standards Assist in designing, monitoring and maintaining financial controls to comply with Sarbanes Oxley Complex transaction analysis to provide support to business operations in understanding financial impact Assists CAO and Senior Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting in financial procedures and special projects/tasks as required Liaise with accounting and internal reporting staff as required Provide assistance to internal and external auditors related to periodic operational, SOX, and financial audits Write, implement and ensure effective and practical implementation of accounting policies Organize and maintain supporting documentation including obtaining signatures, etc. for all public filings Proactively stays abreast of technical accounting and reporting matters and addresses any potential impact on the company. Also participates/leads periodic training sessions, including debriefing senior management on new technical developments Responsible for leading meetings with finance management and other business leaders to address technical accounting topics and finance projects Education Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters degree in related field a plus Current CPA required Years of Related Experience Minimum of 10 years of related experience, including Big 4 public accounting and corporate financial reporting experience Position Requirements:
Knowledge and experience in US GAAP, software capitalization, revenue recognition, SOX regulations and financial controls with knowledge of mergers, acquisitions and purchase accounting a plus Ability to prioritize and work under deadline pressures Demonstrate honesty, reliability and integrity at all times Demonstrate leadership abilities including the ability to motivate others to get accurate results in under a time pressured deadline Ability to research technical accounting issues Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written Ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in confidential matters Team-oriented professional with a roll-up his/her sleeves attitude, who supports and promotes a team effort and celebrates team successes
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Accounting, Corporate FinanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
