Description The Specialty Director of Surgical Services, assumes responsibility for clinical and resource management of assigned nursing departments (24hrs/day). Responsible for assuring the delivery of high quality health care services and high performance with regards to patient, physician and employee satisfaction. The Specialty Director supports hospital leadership and carries out the mission, vision, values, and quality commitment of the hospital. Participates in strategic planning, operations and capital budgeting processes at the operating unit and system level. Responsible for the implementation and standardization of nursing practices in Surgical Services, new program development as needed, and participation in shared governance practice model. Meets budgeted expectations in regards to labor productivity and expense management. Acts as a mentor and coach in professional development of staff. Maintains clinical competency and current knowledge of the relevant patient care standards through professional growth and participation in national professional organizations relevant to practice. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

Employs leadership skills (e.g., foundational thinking, personal journey, uses systems thinking, succession planning and change management). Demonstrates professionalism (e.g., personal and career accountability, career planning, ethics, practices evidence-based clinical and management, advocates for the clinical enterprise and for clinical practice, and active membership in professional associations). Applies business skills (e.g., understanding of healthcare finances, human resource management and development, strategic management, marketing, and information management and technology). MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Five years of leadership experience in the field. Master's degreerequired. If master's degree is in a business or other applicable health related field other than nursing, a BSN is required. National certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration desired. Current Georgia Professional registered nursing license. Demonstrated and proven leader in surgical services.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
