ENTRY LEVEL - SOFTWARE ENGINEER I REMOTE USA POSITION Software/Data Engineering, Data Analysis, Automation Testing Under the general supervision of either the Manager of Software Engineering or the Director of Software Engineering, the Software Engineer I will work closely work with LexisNexis customer test teams (Technology, Business, Product) to deliver fabricated test data for various products and services. Additionally, this role will collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data needed to integrate across all products/services. Use SOAP/UI to test large volume transactions and gather responses to create a test case catalog. Develop code to create/modify web applications/tools to provide interfaces for customers to download test case catalogs. Transform native (HPCC) data and load to MySQL. Develop automations scripts using different languages to test/validate data created/software developed.
Qualifications:
BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required Up to 1 year of experience as a software/data engineer and/or data analyst DESIRED SKILLS:
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities. You will hit some things which are not obvious, and you must have curiosity to learn to research, study similar code and data, and offer solutions and ask thought-out questions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, study, research, question incomplete specifications and grow with experience to complete projects with minimal supervision. Ability to write clean, easy to understand code and sound understanding of coding and development processes. Experience in one or more of the following:
Python, Java (or JVM languages), Ruby, C#, ASP.NET Core. Microsoft Visual Studio or VS Code experience is a plus. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a programmer or developer completing projects. Experience with code repositories, ideally with git, but others are acceptable. Strong technical aptitude with project management skills, capable of learning emerging products and contributing with the team to support the business. ADDITIONAL GOOD-TO-HAVE OR WILLING TO LEARN:
Experience working within agile methodology. General understanding of operational resiliency, business continuity, disaster recovery, or related risk assessment and remediation. Exposure to Azure/AWS environments, and cloud-based disaster recovery methodology Finely tuned ability to risk rank multiple high priority items and advocate successfully for technical teams. Experience in simple testing of product responses via tools such as SoapUI. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while still meeting deliverables. KEY

Design and develop software and modify and run programs as needed to build data for production programs to read in. Design and develop software needed to successfully complete projects requested by business partners. Design and develop software needed to enhance and assist or simplify repetitive tasks. As needed, document technical details, environments, and other details to share knowledge to entire team. Meet with team members and other internal customers to discuss needs and projects and help define the proper, maintainable solutions and test cases. Learn products and how they interact with test data and how to provide good variety of tests. During business hours, test & and validate to confirm software and data is working, and to respond to questions or bugs. Manage and develop yourself while internalizing leadership feedback.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
