The ideal candidate will be capable of handling a variety of tasks including repairing building infrastructure, assembling furniture, addressing plumbing and appliance issues and other maintenance needs around the school.
The role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of safety, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable working in an environment with young children and be mindful of creating a safe, secure, and welcoming space for them.
Key
Responsibilities:
1.
Install, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment and fixtures around school 2.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing systems, electrical fixtures, and appliances.
3.
Conduct regular maintenance of building infrastructure, including painting, carpentry, and other tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for children.

Respond quickly to emergency situations or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to the school's operations (24 hour turn around time) 5.
Adhere to all preschool safety policies and protocols, and actively contribute to a secure environment for staff, children, and visitors.
6.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance tasks.
7.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored safely.
8.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as to keep a safe environment for the children of the school
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role with a broad skill set in maintenance, repairs, and building systems.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Awareness of health and safety regulations.
Ability to interact positively with staff, children, and parents.
High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a vocational school or trade certification is a plus.
A background check and clearance to work in an environment with children are mandatory.
Proof of insurance needed.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
