Summary:
The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of comprehensive proposals on large and complex manufacturing projects.
This often requires the ability to coordinate and lead the preconstruction effort with both in-house and outside resources.
As a key role in our organization, the Senior Estimator is expected to build effective relationships with team members, external customers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for design-build, conceptual and plans/specs estimatingAnalyze project information, including but not limited to sketches, plans, equipment, specifications, and sample layouts, to determine estimated costs and pricingConduct quantity take-offs and estimate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment Solicit and review quotes from vendors, suppliers and subcontractorsReview final estimates for completeness and accuracyAssist operations with subcontractor procurementEngage the operations team throughout the preconstruction process to review plans, specifications and general project requirementsMaintain detailed knowledge of pricing and costs for materials, labor, subcontractors and equipment for all trade disciplinesAbility to manage multiple preconstruction projectsDevelop and maintain historical cost data, including labor and equipment rates, installation methods and production ratesAttend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visitsBuild effective relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors and clientsReview awarded projects and compare cost on a timely basis to as-sold estimates to confirm accuracy of estimatePerform other duties associated with this position as may be appropriate
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Construction Management or Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 12
years' experience as an estimator for a General Contractor; experience in ManufacturingProficient with Onscreen TakeoffStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in MS Office SuiteDetail-oriented, with strong organization skillsAbility to work in a team environmentPossess as a strong work ethicEvans General Contractors, LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
