Apollos Partners has been engaged to recruit for a Senior Revenue Accountant at a Software Technology company with offices in Alpharetta, GA.
The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for all contract revenue and revenue-related expense accounting (including royalties), ensuring software revenue and revenue related expenses are appropriately accounted for in a timely manner for each month end close. The compensation is competitive and is commensurate with experience topping of at around $70K.
The Senior Revenue Accountant will also be responsible for:
Timely balance sheet reconciliations.
Providing internal and external reporting support as well as internal and external audit support.
Interfacing with Finance and the business unit on revenue and related expense recognition issues.
Liaise with technical accounting on contract reviews.
Data analysis and data mining to complete tasks such as cash receipts matching for cash basis recognition.
Billing data analysis to identify elements for revenue deferral.
Ensuring the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data related to deferred revenue and open contract elements that are requiring deferral of revenue.
Reporting on accrued and prepaid accounts
Other ad-hoc reporting duties, assignments and special projects as required by management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
CPA/CPA track preferred (required)
5-7 years of accounting experience (required)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
Experience with SOX, SAP, TM-1, Hyperion (required)
Strong Microsoft Excel and/or Access experience (preferred)
Minimum 2 years of experience in revenue recognition, working in a revenue related function, and experience with revenue recognition in a software/technology environment (ASC 985-605 Revenue Recognition - Software, ASC 605-25 Multiple element arrangements, and ASC 605-35 Construction-type and production-type contracts) (preferred)
Experience with System Evaluations & Conversions
Excellent communications and presentation skills (written and verbal)
Capacity to interface with all levels of personnel in a politically correct mannerEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
