Current Need
Dir, Leadership Development, responsible for creating and executing an enterprise-wide strategy for developing talent pipelines to meet short, medium and long-term leadership and capabilities needed for the business to achieve its strategic objectives. Position based in Alpharetta, GA or Dallas, TX as preferred locations; may consider other locations.
Position Description
Manages the relationships with executives and provides value-added insights and recommendations on key 109 - 111 (leadership) candidates.
Bench Strength: Build talent pipelines with sufficient diversity, quality and quantity to consistently meet enterprise-wide need for 109- 111 leadership and strategic talent.
Targeted Development Strategies: Directs the experience-based development of 109 - 111 employees
Development Process and Tools: Applies different development strategies for developing specific experiences in the pipeline talent; including job rotations, movement into developmental roles etc.
Talent pipeline visibility: Identify opportunities for exposing talent to key events, short-term projects intended to broaden their perspective and experience.
Executive coaching & mentoring: Identify opportunities to build pipeline talent's internal relationship networks and exposure to senior executives across the enterprise.
Succession management: actively manage the pool of potential successors to key positions.
Actively engages and builds trusted relationships with pipeline talent in order to deliver credible advice.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a Masters and 15
years experience in the field
Critical Skills
Strong track record of developing L&D; strategy and building enterprise wide resources
High business acumen
Proven strategic leadership and ability to articulate and execute McKesson's talent strategy.
Strong executive presence
Must have direct experience designing management/leadership development programs and strategies (Incumbent must have proven experience in a similar role)
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of: Experiential learning processes and tools (e.g. job rotations, developmental roles/job design; 109-111(leadership) talent pipeline management)
Proven experience with: Internal Fill Rate for key roles, diversity in leadership roles, key talent retention %, Leadership bench strength/readiness for succession, and depth of talent pools with strategic capabilities
Must have an understanding of L&D; learning theory and practice
Global management/leadership development experience is a huge plus
Education
Requires a Masters Degree (Ed.D preferred)
