Software Development Architect - Cloud

Growing software company that is a subsidiary of a behemoth with super cool technology is seeking a Software Development Specialist to join an agile, fast paced work environment.

The successful candidate must be innovative, driven to succeed, able to thrive within a small agile team environment, and comfortable working in conjunction with other teams to deploy well engineered software on a regular cadence. We are looking for creative individuals with critical thinking skills to provide development and technical leadership as our client transitions to a cloud infrastructure.

Job Duties/
Responsibilities:

  • Work with project leads, Scrum team, and others to design and develop software applications, data structures, and processes that meet specified requirements.
  • Follow and improve established processes for software development life cycle with an agile approach to software delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership on development projects for Digital Services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 7
    years of software development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high performance multi-platform applications and robust APIs in an agile environment
  • Experience working in teams with a DevOps culture and not afraid to jump into the tech stack where needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with a mixture of the following technologies is required
    • AWS (EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, SQS, etc) or similar cloud platforms
    • Microservices architecture, development and deployment
    • C# .NET (preferably .NET Core experience)
    • REST APIs in Python or C#
    • AngularJS, TypeScript, HTML5, Javascript, CSS3
    • PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or another RDBMS
    • Continuous integration and delivery
    • Automated testing including unit, integration, API, contract, and end-to-end testing
  • Ability to review architecture, design, and code to ensure adherence to vision, standards, and quality
  • Bring critical thinking and new ideas to the team in order to contribute to the continued evolution and improvement of our systems
  • Experience working on large, complex relational databases and queries
  • Ability to read, understand, and create design documentation

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • GIS development - ThinkGeo, MapBox, Leaflet, RasterIO, GDAL
  • Source Code Repositories:
    SVN, GitLab
  • Jenkins or other CI, CD tools
  • Experience with Windows service and desktop development
  • Mobile experience - Xamarin

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
