GEORGIA MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION, ATLANTA, GA

Document Imaging Specialist, January 2007 – May 13, 2016

Accomplishments

Worked with the Information Technology team to implement the company’s move to document imaging. The IT team selected and implemented the hardware and software used and I defined and implemented the processes and procedures for all scanned documents in the organization.

Initially digitized more than 125,000+ historical retirement documents for 100+ Georgia cities in approximately 1 year. Hired and managed a temporary resource to help with the process. Once all documents were digitized the company was able to free up approximately 10,000 square feet of office space taken up by file cabinets and provided additional space for employee seating.

While scanning historical documents implemented a process to scan all new incoming retirement documents.

Based on the success of digitizing the retirement documents, the company expanded my responsibility to digitize all Workers’ Compensation documents. I implemented a similar strategy for digitizing more than 150,000+ historical Workers’ Compensation documents and as well as implementing processes and procedures for scanning new documents.

My responsibility was expanded one more time to implement similar processes and procedures for the company’s Life and Health insurance documents.

The success of the imaging programs greatly reduced the amount of risk the company was exposed to in the event of a fire or some other disaster.
